Rode in a Z06 on a track day...

All I can say is WOW...

Went to California Speedway today and rode in a guy's Z06 Corvette. Race rubber, intake changes, big dog brake mods, tuning mods and minor suspension tweaking. Rode with him for a whole session and he was a good driver too, that was pretty crazy.

This thing had balls! So much torque down low, massive grip through the turns and brakes he could stand on big time. Wow.

I got so hyped I want to get my car out there and start banging through the
esses too, but at the same time I realized I'll never have HP/Torque and grip
like that! Ugh, I want one now...

C5 or C6 z06?

I've driven a regular c5 before and have been in the passenger seat of a prepped C5 Z06 and it was like on rails (good suspension and dot r tires).

C5 over 400 HP version with more from the tuning. Forgot to ask what he dyno'd at.

Yep, it has to be insane. The C6 Z06 is my favorite modern American car.

I went for a ride in a c6 Z06 with one of their factory drivers in the wet and I was blown away.

I drove a C6 at the corvette challenge in vegas. I was very impressed.


Was this the car you rode in?

No, but it was silver though. Infield road course at the speedway let it really stretch its legs. It's still a short course though, we hit 120mph on the back straight. Hopefully they'll give me a call in a few more weeks when they go back and to the "roval" where they get to go on the high banked turn as part of the course. Someone said they should be able to hit 140 if they have the balls (but don't make a mistake).

I go to the track and ride in my uncle's '03 Cobra frequently.

Slicks, 500 RWHP, stupid expensive coilovers = alot of fun.

The cobras had to get out of the way. They can hang in the straight but didn't have the braking and cornering ability.

Saw some other awesome cars in the paddock too: two built Lotus Exige, Ferarris, Lambo Diablo, Maclaren SLR, lots of worked Porches, Audi S5, several built EVOs, and a mad max/demolition derby looking CRX track rat.
