The few times I have done it, it was mainly iPod components (MP3 cable, charger, etc.) But they're completely fine with it as long as you have the original packaging, receipt, and some bogus story about how your girlfriend bought you the wrong one. Every time, they have given me a full refund, no strings attached. It's really conveinent if you are cheap and have no use for said products outside of a road trip.

That is a most excellent idea, as is the GPS from Wal-Mart. I will have to do both of these things.

I am just looking for some suggestions on things to do, and inspect before I head out on the trip, as well as what to bring. I'm running an M20 with less than 100 miles on a timing belt, water pump, gaskets, etc... so I'm pretty comfortable with the motor itself.

I'll be bringing some fluids (oil/water) and some tools, but I'm hoping to hear a few suggestions of things I possibly missed.

Let me know. I'd actually like to make it to WA, and not get stuck somewhere in Missouri. :p

I wouldn't so much worry about breaking down in Missouri, since it is populated and all. It is Kansas, Oklahoma etc that I would worry about. In Kansas it is flat and very very few exits once you make the other side of Kansas City. It is a flat and boring ass drive across the mid west. Get gas when you get a chance and good luck. Same thing goes in Utah as well.

Sat raido is the shit for these trips. I have it in my truck, every trip I have made in the last few years but the last one has been with XM. My E30 only has a CD deck and I didnt have attena installed so cd's only suck ass.

A Costco sized box of slim jims, they got me from Boston to Vegas in 06' driving a wrangler on 32" MTR's...damn that was a long week (overnighted in Pittsburg, St. Louis, Boulder, CO (2 nights), Flagstaff, Albequerque (sp?), and finally Vegas.

Unrelated side note, i was fucking astonshed at the amount of Porn shops dotting I-80 & I-70 throughout the mid-west. Kansas had a Porn shop next to a Gas station every 40 miles and not much else in between...

Ya gotta build in extra time... I've had more fun side adventures on roadtrips than I can recall. Strip clubs in Iowa, catfish fishing in Georgia... tailgating at random college football games... etc.

It's legal in Florida, which is where my car is licensed, registered and insured in. :)

Not sure if you have any issues with energy while driving, I used to take the caffeine pills and energy drinks / coffee. To be honest I have moved to the 5 hour energy little shot bottles, they don’t give a huge rush or anything but do last quite a while and keep me alert. I got sick off caffeine / energy pills one trip and try to avoid taking too much now.

These work. I took this and it kept me up all night when I had literally no sleep in me after a concert.

Devon can attest to these too. They don't taste great but they do actually keep you alert.

                          I know, I know. It's totally wrong.
It is also very similar to the reason that I am terminating/stiffening my return policy.
