Help: How do you identify the howling of the diff or the wheel bearings?

    Can we jack the rear up and feel the bad bearing (by shaking the wheel from side to side)? Definitely row row row sound type

        Read above. I stated they make more noise under acceleration. What I was saying here is that they usually dont start making noise until say 20mph, then progressively get louder. This is all figurative considering each car is different and bearings probably get different wear.

        Yes, its going to make noise of the Driver's side under right hand turns if your drivers side wheel bearing is going. You are putting load on it, like I said previously.

          No, it wont cause damage. It will just get louder and louder until you change it.

            just ride in my car. you can experience the full fury of a bad pass side wheel bearing with urethane subframe bushings. i will be doing them in 2 weeks when my sir order comes in.

            BTW:
            SIR tools rear wheel bearing tool set $275. it will make your job way easier!
