    E30 M3 gauge cluster in M50 converted 325is

For 3 years, I have had lockwood white gauges in my car. I thought they looked sharp and still would...if they were still white. Yesterday I just noticed they had started to yellow which means it is time for a change.

However I really don't feel like throwing new gauges in...instead I think I'll just upgrade to an E30 M3 cluster. It's stock, the gauges won't fade, and hopefully I can find one with everything working.

    So:

    1. I am looking for a working E30 M3 gauge cluster. Miles do not matter as all I have to do to correct them is a flat head screwdriver and a few minutes. PM me with any leads.

    2. I've often noticed that M50 E30 guys cannot get their tach to work. Mine has always worked even after the conversion. I was just curious if switching to a E30 M3 cluster would fuck anything up? I don't believe it will (I believe the E30 M3 cluster is a direct swap for the regular e30 cluster which means is there is no problem at A and A = B then there should be no problem with B) but I want to check.

    Gracias

Only trouble will be with the 8K tach card, the needle sweep will give you inaccurate revs (it will read 8000 when you're turning 7000). Both of our 24v equipped E30 M3's have 325i 7K tach cards in them. I'm not sure if there is a way to make your plan work, but hopefully so.

    Good luck

what if he throws the stock gauge from a 325i in the M3 cluster? wouldnt that work?

the thing is finding a cluster with the spare tach gauge.

I'm talking about just the sheet with the numbers, not the whole tachometer.

You could buy the picture CD... I think Jordan has the template for his custom gauge faces on there. ;)

Only if Jordan still has my kph version of the gauges.

He only made different color gauges. He had like 5 colors, and none were black.

Also, a laminated gauge can't compare to a stock one. If you want a black gauge, just go stock.
