What did you do with your sunroof? Just pull it, pull the motor and associated items, rivet on a sheet of aluminum and some rtv? I'm assuming a/c and power steering are gone? Do you still have heat and blower motor?

Has anyone on this site gone on a good step by step "diet" recording what all this shit weighs?

no pics, all you have to do is take the panle out and motor and put in a piece of aluminum where the hole is, mine is an old ugly penzoil sign, i painted the car after so you can only see the print from the interior...

ditto on the reaction time not being counted.. the 60ft time shows a much better launch than Redstar.. i think the rule is --every .1 drop on 60ft time, the 1/4 time drops .2

13.8 is fine by me ..

I like that time slip because we both have '90 325is that started in basically the same trim but redstar's is still stock so I can see where I've come from. I don't think 13.8 is at all bad for a stock M motor, but I'm expecting to lose a bit of time next time I go due to the longer diff I installed this weekend.

I did a lot of DR years ago and to improve R/T in a street car, leave when the last yellow goes out. Don't wait on the red. If you do this you should be under .6 R/T. just my $.02.

And why is reaction time such a big deal to everyone? I'm not racing for slips, I'm taking my time and trying to get the best launch I can for a good 1/4 mile time.

Not really hung up on R/T just a little info for your next outing. Its also fun just to see how close you can get with out redlighing. Its always fun to make runs down the strip. When I finish my m50 swap, a friend of mine and I are going to hit the track to see what they will do.
