    e21 boards? Or anyone knowledgeable?

I found a clean ass e21 for sale, really cheap. I was just searching craigslist for parts car or fixer uppers to make a quick buck.

Anyways, I saw this car maybe 2 years ago. What drew my attention was the body was SUPER clean, like amazing to be sitting out in the boonies at some yuckles shop. I asked the guy at the time if he was gonna sell it, and he said no.

Guy only wants $800 for it, which seems like a good deal to me. Any suggestions on what I should do with it? Buy it, fix it, and sell it? Part it? Problem is that this car is old enough there just isn't a huge market for it around here.

The only thing I could think of to make some money would be to put a m30 or something in it (which I also found locally cheap) then toss it on ebay.

good price for a classic car in good condition, if youve got $800 to spare, pick it up, restore it to excellent condition and go from there!

Yeah, I am thinking maybe just pick it up, fix what needs to be fixed, clean it up real good, then put it back on the market.

Unless I like put a m20 in it, turbo, and euro bumpers and an alpina splitter. But I don't think that would be a very good investment. But it would be way more fun ;)

I'm about 80% sure I'm putting an M20 in the car, although now I'm toying around with an M42 swap also since I might be coming up on a complete assembly at some time in the near future (if my buddy ever does his S50 swap :D.)

I asked an E21 nut/friend of mine once about an M20 swap into an E21, he said the M20 would be too heavy for that chassis. I definitely think an M42 swap would be much more entertaining.

I think your on the right track of buying fixing, M20 motor etc. i would definately keep this one. If it was any closer i would buy it. just to remind me of when i was a kid and my father would pick me up from school in his.

Uh, you could buy an E21 stock with an M20. Ever heard of a 323?

323i: Featuring the M20 and Bosch K Jetronic fuel injection, the 323i was the top model of the line, 143 bhp (107 kW), with 4 disk power assisted brakes, power steering as an option, 5 speed economic gearbox after 1980, 5 speed dogleg sport gearbox as an option and limited slip differential (25%) also as an option.

Touche. I guess he preferred the 320i/is to the 323 model.

Nonetheless, a M42 would be my choice.

I've had about 6 e21s and I had an e21 323i that i ended up wrecking but the car was very quick. I still have the front subframe which it nessesary for the 6 cylinder swap. I also have the dual exit exhaust which is a very cool/rare piece for any e21 both subframe and exhaust are for sale. If you are used to driving an e30 the e21 will feel slow but they are still plenty of fun. and even more sideways than an e30!
