So who here is running a swapped E30?

    name your poison-
    M50
    M52
    M30
    S50

    feel it was worthwhile?

I'm debating on either boosting my very healthy M20, or tossing it and going obd1/obd2...

Go read in the swap section, members rides, and the project section.

There are 6 threads from the last 6 months just like this one you are trying to create.

there is plenty of each, in fact there is a whole subdivision of threads dedicated to dohc swaps with plenty of feedback. I'll go out on a limb and tell you the consensus:

For the work involved, skip the m50 and go straight to the s50 if you want dohc power. But with an awesome engine comes an awesome price. Figure 5 grand on the low end for a s50 swap.

If you're fine with old school single cam two valve action, the m30 has potentially the best bang for the buck. With the funk man making motor brackets, the hardest things are finding the right tranny, bleeding the cooling system, and giving up A/C. Could probably do a m30 swap for under 2 grand if you get some deals. Can turbo later for massive hp numbers.

If you're m20 is in good shape though, turbo it. No reason yanking a perfectly good motor. Turbo it till it blows, then swap. e30tech is where all the sixteen year old boy racers go to turbo their cars./

Pssh, you don't even have M20 on the list.

        I de-eta'd my E30.

Does this apply to all of your threads?

I'm running a carb'ed m10 outta a 2002 filled with small crack smoking hookers. It was sooo worth it, only thing is next time I'd go OBD3.
