      what are the downsides to using 87 octane gas with octane booster in a car with a mark d chip that requires 91 octane?

        That you can't quite be sure of your octane level because most octane boosters don't accurately advertise the amount of boost they offer. Don't be a cheapass, just buy the right gas.

          or do what i did and gat an extra dme and mount it under you chipped unit, so you can swap at the gas station if you like. i wish i could do it with my diffs......

            im not being cheap i just had a tank of 87 before i put the chip in and now im waiting for it to run out.

              all of these 0-60's were at about 6000ft elevation, so i bet i could get some better times if i went down to sea level.
