    video editing software

yo kids.. what's the hot steez on video editing software. when i used to be down with software i was downloading cracked versions of adobe premier v8. i need to use it here at work, so i can't use a cracked program anymore, plus that's way out of date.

here's what i want to do:

    capture video from DV
Edit existing video to bring down filesize.

no effects, no transitions, etc.. i'm assuming i'll use the divx codec as from what i can see it looks good and is small.

any points or hints? anything freeware? Mario if you're reading, what are you using?

    holla.

      Jay,

you have seen my videos, right? I did em all with a $80 video editing program called Nova Development Video Exposion Deluxe (Formerly known as Sonic Foundrys, Video Factory).

Staples has it on the shelf.

exactly what i needed. a cheep program that works. we want to put videos up on our site, and we have them all on Digital video, as well as a capture card, just no way to compress them and such once they're on the computer. i'm quite familiar with sonic foundry's software, as i cut my teeth on digital audio with sound forge (i think that was their first big program) ...

        thanks again for the tip
