    M-tech II trashed before installed

So I got my MTII parts painted and picked them up a few days ago. Boy, they looked great.

I made the mistake of leaving them in the company box truck, thinking nobody will be using it for some days. Well, one of the guys drove it on a 50 mile trip, probably in traffic too.

The rear bumper got seriously thrashed against the roll-up door, and a few other pieced got scuffed up. The best part is that I just went out with my camera to take some pics to post, and as I roll up the door the trashed bumper just rips my eyes out. Ah! My eyyyyes!

I called my man Mitch Lanzini, and once I was done moping, he told me to bring whatever I need to over tomorrow. It's not like I was gonna get this stuff on soon, but I can't stand imagining that thrashed bumper. Gotta get it the hell out of here and healed up.

It's my fault, of course, but I feel like thrashing the guy who took the truck. I wonder if he opened the door and saw a bunch of car parts painted? If he did, he probably figured they're mine and shat a brick.

A worthless post, I know, but I feel better after venting to people who understand the pain.

So you stored freshly painted NLA e30 bodywork in a company vehicle that you don't control? I think you should get some sort of award for that move.

Just needs to be repainted, that's all.

Well, I control the company and thought I knew the use pattern of the truck, which is to say, almost no use. Bought it a few years ago for shuffling stuff from one location to another, but we changed some things so we didn't need to shuffle that stuff anymore.

So a guy from another location came over to take the truck, probably for some retarded reason, as he didn't need a box truck or he would have taken the stuff out. We've got a pickup truck at his location, so he could have used that.

But yeah, obviously I don't control the dy-to-day use of the truck. I made the mistake of thinking nobody was using it and left the stuff in there for a few days. Of all the guys, this would be the guy it would just have to be.

I didn't take pictures because it just made me sick. I can't look at it again. It's going right over to Mitch's place and I won't look at the shit until it's pretty again.

Aside from your parts being in there and getting ruined...

I would probably fire that guy because as you said he had no use for a box truck - not to mention that any decently responsible person would check the back to make sure any cargo was secure and loaded well before driving.

When you're done kicking your own ass for leaving stuff in there, kick some employee ass as well.

I pulled them out and the scuffs in most of them will come out. I'm going to have the rear bumper and front bumper (not the valence) resprayed.

I asked the guys superior about the truck deal and the guy had been sent to go pick up stuff. He arrived at the place and found the my stuff in there. He didn't realize it had been freshly painted, but tried to move it out of the way. Anyway, he called and was apologetic and kinda freaked. I told him it's no big deal, don't worry about it a bit. Just check the truck box before you go pick stuff up. The guy suffered enough anyway.

Yeah, that's Mitch Lanzini of Lanzini Body Works. I'll probably put his logo on my web page, and probably CMW (Ron Inchausti) too. It's not like my rig is sponsored, I'm a customer, but I'd like to give props to these guys because they do great work and they're friends of mine.

Now I think about it, I'll probably put a TCD logo on there if Todd would like me to. I don't know him personally, but his gear is a big part of this project. He seems to be a friend of Ron's, so that's good enough for me. I suppose I'll get to know Todd over time.
