Green it's hazardous for your aluminun parts, Chrysler recomneded us stop using green and changed it for red/oange wich doesn't kill alu. Blue came out after red/orange wich it's sopoused to be better.Euro M3'87 NogaroSilver/Euro E34 M5 '93/Porsche 993 TT 97' Euro/Porsche 993 Carrera 95' Euro/Skyline R33 GT-R

You don't want just water, because of the boiling point issue (I think) and rust formation from impure water.
The main reason to use the blue BMW antifreeze (other than it is the good shit) is DUH!..... it just looks cool to have a blue coolant reservoir! :hitler:

how bad is it to do that...?Comment

Running straight water will wear out your water pump bearings as they don't provide lubrication to them the way that running a mix of coolant and water does.sigpic

You generally want to run watter wetter or another corrosion resistor in straight water. Most track cars run straight water with water wetter/corrosion protection in case of a leak.:: PNW Crew ::

A million years ago when I raced Datsun 510s (True...I worked for BMW and raced against them in the 80's) we used a mixture of watter and ethyl alcohol. We always drained it out at the end of the day and we never expected anything to last more than several races.
Coolant/Antifreeze is necessary on the street for corrosion, lubrication and boil over protection.Comment
