    Euro bumper lighting question

To any of your who've done the conversion: How did you handle the front signal/marker lights? Since the source on a US car is three wire and the bulb in the Euro housing is two wire, it seems you have a choice between running the light either as a signal or marker but not both. Right now I've got them wired as dedicated signal lights, but this apparently causes an accelerated blinker (perhaps due to the different type of bulb). I've heard you can use the marker light setup from an '88-'91 E30, as the housing is more or less identical and the bulb has the appropriate three-wire signal/marker plug. Any suggestions/guidance on this? I'm normally pretty good about using my signals but the overly rapid blinking in my current setup bugs me.

Oh, and happy Memorial Day to all.

I got mine wired in as blinker and they blink as they should (cut off the end with the parking light wire and trim the connector to the shape of the back on the signal in the bumper). You may just have the wrong bulb in it.

I have my lights wired as just blinkers and have my city lights for parking lights now.

My front euro bumper came with snips of the euro blinker harnesses. The US connectors are three-wire (white, blue, brown), and the euro ones are two-wire (blue, brown). Wiring just the blue and brown wires from the US harness will make the euro blinkers operate properly.

Here's how mine are set up:

You might want to find some DB's, and see if you can knock or press out the plastic insets that has the bulb holder and harness connector, and press it into the euro blinker housing.

Kronus, when you say "work properly," do you mean it works both as a marker and a signal light or just as a signal?

you could also use late model blinker housings, they should work on euro bumps. they at least use the same lenses.

i think there is a trim piece on the euro blinkers so you have to use them. i wired mine like them and then i bought after market city lights for my H4's

                Interesting...

I have the same issue, so I just left them unplugged. I forgot to snap off the connectors at the last euro and now they are gone :(
Surely you can just buy the connector pigtail no?
