I bought the akg offsets and want to make COMPLETELY sure I am putting them in correctly in the lollipop. I have been searching but confused myself trying to make sense of things.
first) The hole (where the CA goes in) in an offset bushing is closest to the stick end of the lollipop. So the hole ends up veering towards the inside of the car. Is all this correct?
Second) This is my main question though. There are two sides of the offset bushing; one side has a little more of a rough texture and has more of a diameter than the other side with a tapered end leading into the hole (PIC 1), and the other side is very smooth and the entire side of this bushing is flat (PIC 2).
So which of these sides houses the end of the control arm? Basically, which of these sides faces the front of the car? The tapered hole side (larger diameter side of the bushing) or the smooth flat side?
Does the control arm go in the way the pen is going in as picture 3 shows (flat, smooth end side)? Or is it the other way? Thanks
Sorry about all the detail, I am just paranoid of getting things wrong. Thanks.
