    Trailer Hitch

I've not searched for a trailer hitch yet but have never noticed one on an E30.
I think I'm going to drive to all relatively local autoxes next year, and carry my tires and other stuff on a small trailer.

Anyone know where to get one or has anyone made one?

      Wow those are pricey.....

Maybe making one is the best answer....I only need to carry 8 wheels/tires, jack, cordless impact, a small tool box with emergency type stuff, and in the trailer, that's it.

Contact MR325. He has one to tow around his e30 trailer. I think his is custom made.

This comes up on a regular basis.

I put one on my '87 325is a long time ago, I used to haul a small trailer with 4 track wheels/tires on it plus a big plastic storage box with tons of spares and tools, etc, PLUS a 5 gallon fuel jug. Hauled this trailer all over the place, from Sebring to Watkins Glen and everywhere in between- never had a problem, ever.

I made my hitch, copied it from a Da'Lan hitch that used to be sold all over the place- it's got the small (1-1/4") square receiver tube- so you can take the ball off and just leave the receiver tucked in under the bumper. I made and sold a couple of others- I can make one for you for ~$130 shipped IF you have a big-bumper car.

They still sell a fixed bar hitch for the plastic bumper cars- it mounts completely differently than the big bumper hitch.

U-haul used to sell an E30 hitch under their own brand name, it was essentially the Da'Lan hitch with a U-haul sticker on it- you might want to call the local U-haul store and see if they still have them.

www.hitchweb.com used to be a good resource, they had installation .pdf files that basically showed the important dimensions of most of their hitches- that's what I used to make mine.

            Bret.

just quick searched google. saw this on HMS. Now I wonder if a hitch would work on a slightly lowered e30?

check german ebay. I used to see them all the time for sale with mtech rear bumpers that have a hitch cut out.
