I haven't been recording it, but I have been watching the replays on OLN most every night. Looks like Basso is going to be Armstrong's real competition this year. Ulrich dropped off big time during the mountain stages. He is always good at playing catch-up near the latter half of the tour, but I think the gap might be a little too big this time.

I agree. if the tour was over closer to Germany next week I was going to watch a stage. But nope. I think that Tyler Hamilton wussed out this year. His first time as a non-domestic and he drops out.
The funny thing is hamilton is a local gent to me. Marblehead Mass.
Lance is moving to the OLN team next year.

Voeckler will not be in yellow for much longer. I think Lance will take the Tour again this year. This guy is a god. Lance haters...don't comment.
Basso will be good competition in the Alps. This guy is supposed to be one of the next big stars (he's around 25 years of age I think). Ulrich will probably make a bit of a comeback, but won't come close to touching Lance. Hamilton hurt his back in a crash, which is why he left the race...but he always crashes, so that was nothing new.
For those that don't know, US Postal Service is not sponsering next year, so the Discovery Channel will be the new sponser for Lance and his team. Part of the contract requires Lance to race in the Tour again next year.
