Ouch. I leased one car-a '02 330i-and I likely never will lease again. I used www.swapalease.com to get out of it early, and that worked very well.
But for you that is obviously too late. As you said, lesson learned. Now, have you tried to bargain with them on reducing the amount owed? In a way, your best bet might be to agree to lease another Audi and maybe-just maybe-they will drop or at least greatly reduce the amount you owe, and roll the remainder into your new lease.
Regardless, good luck with the outcome-and this is definitely a lesson for others.Eric Giles

Lol, I love the responses :)
Swapalease does not work with all the leases, with VW/Audi YOU would still be responsible on the lease EVEN if you find another person to take the lease over. It's kind of stupid, so I wouldn't risk with that. The over-mileage is something you can negotiate while you sign the lease, or be smarter and buy more mileage up-front.
Eric - exactly, part of the reason why I went so many miles over is I thought I would get into another Audi and was told they would waive the over-mileage. When it came down to it, looked at the a5s, they wouldn't honor it. I am working on it though, car has been in the shop about 7 times and I have all the records, I've sent a certified letter to AFS to see what they'll do for me. I thought about buying it out and got a 3.9% loan approval (and a $2000 visa gift card), and of course you can't negotiate the purchase price. I was thinking about buying it and then flipping it to lose less cash, but it would be a gamble as this isn't a market right now to sell an expensive car.
So, I figured I would rather take a hit now for what I know than possibly take a bigger hit by trying to sell it after buying it out....
Figured I would post this, to save other trouble and hopefully some will learn from this :)Last edited by Jean; 06-05-2008, 10:22 PM.Mtech1 v8 build thread - https://www.r3vlimited.com/board/sho...d.php?t=413205
