    84 318 yay or nay?

84 318 on craigslist no body damage over 214k miles, $700 "firm" (lol). I don't know anything about m10's but would it still get decent MPG with that many miles on it? The lightweight 318 intrigues me and i think it would make a good daily or play car or even swap candidate if it isn't too rusty. Can you feel a difference because of the lack of weight?

ANYWAY is 700 too much? i think 500 would be fair but idk. Why am i posting this shit?

Bulletproof is what i was hoping for cause the odometer stopped working at 215k, going to check it out tommorow, wonder if it gets anywhere close the the EPA rated 27 city 38 highway.

edit: wonder if i could stretch some 155/14's onto a bottlecap and drift the bitch, lol. Just dreaming.

naw, it wont do that. but it will get around. maybe high 20s with normal driving.

couple things to watch for, if it ticks, DO NOT BUY. The rod bearings like to go on m10s, of the three i had go, all were the #2 rod bearing [oiling problem, iirc]. ~235k, 250k and 330k. they hate vaccume leaks, idles are fun to sort out from time to time. just remember its slow.

I average mid 30s for mileage with mixed driving in my '84 318, and with a little suspension work they can definitely be tossed around. :) It's been pretty much bullet proof so far too, and I only paid $600 for it with 78k miles.

If it runs and drives with a decent body for $500 I'd definitely pick it up.

And the only drifting you'll be doing is in snow/gravel/dirt. haha

Car feels very light, very tossible with good suspension/tires. I gave it all it's got last year in autox and it never missed a beat but i've done a lot of maint and upgrades on mine. Rear brakes are drums.

I get about 25mpg in mixed driving.

If it's a 5spd and has not body damage I would pay $500-700 for it.

The description was very innaccurate, checked it out and the body was horrible and considerably rusty.

The one that i drove for all of 1 minute was a total pos. Was barely idling and hand a shifter looser the a porn star after a gang bang but it was fun. The thing stopped on a dime. What a difference 400lbs make.
