    Shops in N. Florida??

So unfortunately I had to drive the M3 from Phoenix, AZ to Pensacola, FL. I passed the 100k mark somewhere in East Texas. She did pretty well, but I'd like to take her to a good shop within a few hours driving distance (at non-ticket speeds) to get a check-up. If anyone knows a good BMW shop that would know about the s14 in Mobile, New Orleans, Birmingham, etc let me know. I'd rather not go to Orlando or Tampa.

We don't have anything in the way of a large independant BMW or Euro tuner shop here in the Panhandle/Gulf Coast. There is an independant BMW shop here on the Eastern Shore(Mobile) called Ronnie Lee's Imports, 8392 C.R. 64, Daphne, Alabama. Phone is 251-625-3411 or 3355. Unfortunately, Ronnie died a few months ago so I can't vouch for how well they can help you.

I would imagine Birmingham or Atlanta would have some better shops that would understand your S14. I know there are a few members from B'ham and Atl here. Specifically ask for those cities in another thread and I'm sure someone will chime in.

What are you looking to have done? If its basic, Grady BMW in Mobile or Sandy Sansing BMW in P'cola may have an older tech hidden somewhere to look at it.

BTW, I am over in Fairhope. If you are a BMWCCA member we meet the 3rd Thursday of the month at McAlister's off Government Blvd in Mobile at 7pm. Its a very small group, just a few older guys(I'm the youngest at 42) but they're cool.

        NavyE30-

I don't own a shop, but I have worked on enough E30's the past few years that you could call my house a 'shop'! Not sure exactly what you are looking at having done, but I own an '88 M3 (previously had a '90 M3) and could help you do some maintenance tasks and a basic checkup. I am close to three hours away from you in Waynesboro, MS but if needed we can work something out.

        twothrees-

Glad you mentioned the BMW CCA 'meets' on Government-I am a CCA member and at 37 years old I won't make you be the young guy anymore. I might head that way next Thursday evening after work, as it will only take me an hour and a half to get there. Might even be able to bring a couple of other fellow Bimmerheads with me. How long does the meet usually last?

          Eric & NavyE30,

The meetings usually last an hour. We just chat about bimmers over food. I actually haven't been to a meeting since December so I'm looking forward to seeing the guys again. My wife and I moved to South Florida for a few months and we just came back. South Florida is not my cup of tea is all I can say.

I'll look forward to meeting you guys next week, bring your friends!
