    12-Point Flange Head Cap Screw???

So after lots of frustration getting the upper oil pan of the m42 (theres
2 more 10mm bolts hiding in the bell housing) I stumbled on an other
    problems

    The conrod bolts:

I've searched my Machinery's handbook for half an hour without finding
any mention of a 12 point flange bolt, I finnaly found something about
those bolts on the Mcmaster site but they only show imperial size no metric
so now I know the name of them but I have no way to find what size it is.
And my bentley is no help here as there is no M42 info in there...

Do someone know what is the size of those bolts?

    Thanks

    Why?

I mean, just stick a 12 pt socket on there and crank it loose.... I seem to remember 14mm maybe.....but a normal 12 pt socket will work just fine- no need for special tools.

Or were you asking about the size so you could get new ones?? If so, just get them from the dealer or BMA or someplace like that.

I'm not planning on buying new ones or getting every thing back
together but but either way i'll have to buy a tool since i only own
6 point socket and I'd rather buy the right tool (I like to have
the right tool for the right job)

It is a regular 12 point head. BBS wheels use the same style on their multi-piece wheel bolts.

I did a rod bearing job over the winter with a 12 point socket and everything was fine. I used a 1/2" drive set because the torques are pretty high.
