    Cabrio prices

I've been lurking for about a month, and am ready to get another e30. I was just wondering about prices nationwide. I am looking at an 88 Cabrio in quite nice shape for about $3k. I think that's pretty good, but wanted advice from the group.

    Thanks,

    Bill

BTW...I was also lurking at e30tech but since I use punctuation and am not planning to add a wing, I figured I'd post here.:D

That's what I paid for mine. Good luck and show us pic's when you get her.

Paid 2,800 for mine a couple of years ago with 110K on it and a binder full of dealer service/repair records.
Car is clean and in good shape for it's age, but not perfect cosmetically, but needs very little mechanically.

Also, what color inside and out, and is it a 5 speed?
Cabby's made up only about 15% of all E30's, so I hope that they start holding their value a little better.

Just bought it from 2nd owner (since '92). Bone stock '88, hard top (never used), 5-sp manual, records and books, 130k km (about 81k miles). Possibly the only rust-free e30 in Ontario, timing belt 30k ago. Needed tires, some paint chips on the hood and a few wear marks on the top (one small hole, but it doesn't appear to leak). $7k CDN. Up here the $4k and under ones are rust-buckets, and the under 100k km ones have $12k asking prices (though they don't often sell it seems).

Just got my 91' White/Blue cabbie with a blown motor for $800.... Needs a good cleaning, And a drivers side vent window. Id say its a good deal. But I had a motor sitting around...

If the top is in good shape and the car drives out good, the price is not too bad. Most verts have busted seams on top of the back seat from UV damage. If the upholstry is in good shape, that is a plus. Go for it! You'll love the vert.

If it's pretty clean inside and out, and it's in good running condition (receipts?), I'd say $3k is fine for that. The costs of bringing it up to the condition you want is where the real money is. Getting a clean platform to start with is the way to go.

Click the pic below. Mind you, it's a bit dirty in the pic.

I uploaded a new pic and for some reason, it's not cropped correctly.

I'll take it out of my sig.

Edit: OK, back to normal size.

Just bought this one for 2900, its in GREAT mechanical shape, needs a new rear window which I have and is waiting to go in. Did half of the shadowlining, the rest will get done next week.

How I got it, I had painted the side bumpers in this pic

                        Did this tonight:
