Hey, My sister has a 95 jetta 2.0 with a slushbox that isn't working so good. I know absolutely nothing about auto trannys so I was hoping someone could help me out.
First off it shifts hard at times, not really a huge issue or a major complaint, I'm betting thats just how it is because of its age and slushboxness. Just though I would mention that.
The real problem is from time to time it just won't shift. You can almost bounce off the rev limiter and it still won't go. Only way to make it shift is to jab the gas pedal a few times and it will.
I pulled the codes on it, and nothing came up. So I really have no idea where to begin. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do/test?
FWIW, its running rich as hell, enough at times to make the car stink like a pig and miss. Wire on the o2 is open and the o2 is shot. But I need to take it into an exhaust shop it get it out. Needs a shot of acetylene to free her up, don't have one. I don't know if that would fuck with the shifting or not. I know some weird stuff like that can from time to time effect autos though.
