    ALL STATE = all snakes
that is what we call them at work. it usually isn't the agent, it is the adj that is the ball buster. when i told my agent about threatening to knock out the adj's teeth and asked if i was going to be cancelled, he just laughed, and said no. he told me he feels like saying that to them all the time.

find out about the buy back option! make sure that you can buy it before it goes to auction. trings are changing in that end of it. make sure you can before you agree

here's the thing, the buy back option is near $900. I've sent quiet a few e30 to the yard, and I sear the most I ever got was $300. This mean the buy back option is calculated upon a certain bid from junk yards. In NC insurance companies are allowed to check how much some one is willing to pay for the car and then give that number as a buy back option. What pisses me off is that some one is willing to pay $900 for a totaled car that would be worth $4300. Is that insane or what? Some one wants to buy a car for $900 to pull parts from?

So the math is like this. I get $3400 and keep the totaled car, and get to pull all the parts off myself (AGAIN) and search for another 325eS. How retarded is that?

Any more suggestions, this is helping me out a lot, I get to see different logic, and see what I can be doing. Kind of like turning objections into solutions.

      Thanks, guys.

can you get a comparable car or a good solid base car for $3400.00 in your area?
do you have a place to part it and or switch the parts?

those should be factors in your decision

Well, I'd have to part it at friend's parent's house and work on it there (if they let me).

Now finding a 325eS in my area is a funny thing. I can, and I already did. But the car needs shit load of work, the car makes so many different noises, and i can hear transmission shift through speakers. Windshield is cracked. Front spoiler is gone, with brackets and everything, just GONE. Needs center bearing and guibo. Needs timing belt and water pump along with t tune-up. Car has Korman suspension installed, but I can't even test it out, because the tires are bolder than slicks.

The next closest one to me, by Autotrader, is 172 miles away in SC and is being sold for $3650 (and it need TLC). The next one is in Ohio for $6000. I've had enough e30's to know that I will never pay that much, but insurance company can't try to cheat their way out of the situation either.

where in SC? if it is in Columbia or James island, maybe my friend can look at it to see if it is a total shit box or not.

i still say stick to your guns, but know all your options going in. that way if you reach a point where you are as happy as you are going to be $$ wise, you can get the money and proceed to become "re-car'ed" again

HAHAHA, got stealership appraisal of all the work, and their dollar amount is at $16,000 at $120 per hour. Defiantly sending it to the insurance adjuster.

nando had good advice. I worked for a insurance company for 6 years and was a total loss adjuster. Most people are tards and you should not listen to them. I'm not sure about the laws in NC but in Cali the insurance company is not allowed to determine a vehicles value. It needs to come from an independent third part. Most value reports come from ADP or CCC. The only thing you can do is make sure they are not showing your car a POS and to make sure they are really looking all your receipts. Most adjusters are too busy, don't care, or both. Technically they have to send you a letter stating why the receipts did not enhance your value. READ YOUR POLICY. If it has an appraisal clause you can envoke it.

Thanks Einstein, this is where the battle is taken so far. I am faxing 4 advertisements and 2 work estimates tomorrow. Apparently, if I had local dealership do all thew work, the car would be worth $15,900. I laughed when i saw the number, but I'll fax it in anyway. I tried to find out whether it's ADP or CCC, since I have excess to both of them, but adjuster didn't send me neither one of those, he sent me independent adjuster's NADA, which was a different number from what he offered me the other 2 times. I'll see tomorrow, and then i think I'll speak to the supervisor or manager.
