Stock e30 seats weight ?

so i checked this forum, google, yahoo, searchme, dmoz, and many other search engines and couldn't find anything about how much a stock e30 seat weighs. Does anyone have any idea what it could be?

How much do each of the front seats weigh?

How much do the rear seats weigh?


I was wondering how much they weigh because I found a pair of racing seats that weighs 21lbs each for $280 a pair (two seats) from http://losangeles.craigslist.org/lac/pts/737007101.html ... what cha'll think?

Thats heavy. I doubt those are actual race seats. Are the FIA approved? Fixed back?

Yeah man, those CraigsList seats are awful looking. Stick with what you've got until you find some decent quality seats to replace them with. I had my front seats out yesterday actually, I'd say they way around 30-32 lbs. They're Recaro Specialist seats, but they weigh almost the same amount as the stock seats. Rear seats may be about 10 lbs per piece (seat back and seat bottom.)

COOL! thanks you guys! i'll just save my money then. as for FIA approved, I'm not sure if they are... i guess i'll leave those seats for the hondas, nissans, and toyotas to grab. as for brackets, it already comes with brackets and all you do is drill two holes on the actual bracket which is what an e30 owner told them to do from that e30 owner's experience...


anyhow, where should i look to get racing seats for an e30 and is affordable yet light?

LOL! that's funny mayn. damn. yeah, e30_fiend told me they weigh somewhere around 40lbs, but i still can't find a rather exact number... oh wellz, but i at least got a general idea

racing seats for drifting and autox 'cuz i'm a skinny dude that has a small butt and my sotck seats keeps throwing me around whenever i drift or take a right hander or left hander turns as well as slaloms which fucks up everything else like my throttle control and my steering...

also, did you make it to the July 12th drift event? my PayPal got hacked, so they didn't receive my payment and the list closed last week thursday, however, i'm going to the July 20th drift event at the NOS track coordinated by driftday, wanna roll there instead? i heard it's a better track than the balcony and it's closer to you 'cuz it's in San Bernardino... lmk what you think, :D

haha no seat is no longer for sale. unless i find a worthy replacement. i'll be at the event this sunday and hopefully the event at the balcony on the 13th. im just trying to get as much seat time as i can this season!

+1 dude! so you drifting at the federal this weekend? i'm trying to find some federal tires, so i get in for free, lol. i can't make it to the balcony next week though, :( no dinero after this sunday
