    e28 info?

I'm in search of a 4 door bimmer with good gas mileage but roomy enough. I'm trying to decide between e30 318/325e and e36 318. However, What about e28's? Didn't they come with an m20b27? If so, what years? What kind of MPG did they get? What rear ends did they come with? Any other fuel efficient motor options?

btw I will be selling this soon, as soon as I do the clutch I'll post it in classifieds

Yeah, the 528e cars came with the B27. I believe they were made every year of the E28's existence, from like '82 to '88. The 535iS came with a 3.25 LSD, I have no idea what the 528e's final drive was. Like Gnome said, www.mye28.com will teach you a lot about the cars, there a lot of knowledgeable members on there. My brother has an '88 535iS, and the M30 in that is a fantastic motor, it's strong and quite good on fuel.

      Nice E34, are those genuine M System-II's?

i had an 85 528e for my first car, it was an auto and had a 2,93 open diff, i believe i averaged around 23mpg, and the car was passed on to my cousin, she still has it, and drives it every day, i think it has around 410k on it, and still runs great, a testemant to how great the b27 can be, but the trans on the other hand went out at around 250k
