Fanboys - (2008) (Star Wars Content)

This is gonna be a good movie for those of us with a 'lil Star Wars geek still left inside before those whatever they were sequel/prequel things were. I remember the excitement from 1995-98 of waiting for it to come out, then I was ashamed. I think this movie will bring up some of the memories of anticipation of the first episode.

P.S. Kevin Smith is in it too. He deserves a geeky cameo.

Here's hoping we can forget the immense disappointment that was Episode I.

Too late. Now I have that same sinking feeling when the three fights began and Lucas still hadn't done any deeper character development except have one uninteresting character call the other one Obi Wan. I actually said it out loud in the theater. "You mean that's it? Sixteen years for this?"

Some guy behind me said, "Holy crap, dude. You're right!"

I think I wasn't the only one who waited a few weeks before daring to pay to see Episodes II and III. Thomas Wolfe was right. You can't go home.

I didn't pay for Epi II & III, it's sacrilige, but I waited til they came out on DVD and rented them.

Hayden Christiansen and Natalie Portman had no "soul" of the persona they played, Uncle Lars and Aunt Beru as their minor roles had more heart.

It's what CGI has done to movies, look at The Dark Knight with it's lack of visual wizardry and just told an awesome story.

A movie about the true, inner star wars dork in all of us? Going to steal a copy of episode I for your friend who is dying of cancer? I'd break into Skywalker Ranch in a heartbeat for a friend.

I JUST saw the preview. It looks like Bratz dolls on heroin. I don't think I'll pay to see it. Why not use actors and make it part of the series?

Did you ever watch the Star Wars cartoon (the recent one)? That's what they all looked like. I think it looks really cool.

And actors demand millions and special effects cost a lot more when it's live action. Should be fun to watch.

The Clone Wars micro serious on Cartoon Network was freakin sweet. I'm definitely going to see The Clone Wars as a mega-nerd. Although I'm disappointed with throwing in Jabba's son and Anakin's apprentice Asoka...none of the hundreds of comics/expanded universe mention anything about said apprentice.

Back on topic...this looks funny. Maybe not see-it-in-theaters funny, but definitely something to check out.

The best thing star wars related since the early '80s was the Family Guy parody. This movie; along with Clone Wars, should be pretty good though.
