This is going to be fun...Motor swap musical chairs

I'm pulling out the M20 from my cab, and putting in the rebuilt one I WAS going to use for my 2002.

    Why?

    Hint-

    For the 02.

            lol.

            Bimmerforums!

That, 86mm MM 3200 Pistons, 135mm rods, Schrick cam and oversized valves, etc, and possibly ITB's soon after the build itself.

what are you planning on doing for your itb setup?

are you beefing up your rockers at all?

As far as the rockers go, I'm planning on getting a set of billets from somewhere. Jason / Slyder of C3 told me a few weeks ago he can get some that are pretty trick, I may see what they're like and decide from there.

The ITB's I've gone from thinking about making my own intake from cutting up a stock manifold and using motorcycle TB's, all the way to (AFTER the build, since for the money situation I shouldn't consider it part of the build process.. lol) the full Dbilas set up. Currently though, I'm right in the middle. I am feeling the Dbilas manifold adapter, it has DCOE flanges on the intake side, then from there I could get my individual throttle bodies from www.jenvey.co.uk Check their stuff out, some of it looks REALLY nice.

if your looking for DCOE adapters or anything of that sort check out rowlands manifolds in SA.

i wouldn't do billet rockers though if i were you, they're a pain in the ass to keep adjusted properly for a street car. just get some race prep'd rockers, we have them at work but i dont know how opposed you are to buying parts from ie. :)

Well to be completely honest yeah, I'm a little hesitant to spend that much on rockers anyway. I don't need this to be an engine that lives at 7000 RPM. It's a stroker.

I actually already have emailed rowland in SA and recieved an email back from them. That is another good option, but I think I would have to spend some time cleaning them up to look really nice. Here's a picture of the DCOE set. I do admit it is a lot cheaper than the dbilas manifold. Intake is somewhere that I'm not set on yet, clearly. It's one reason why I'm not going to be buying any of that stuff until the long block is complete, then I'll see how much I'm hurting for money.

One thing that is worth to note about the dbilas manifold is that it has injector holes right next to the head, shooting more or less straight in. Whereas if I used those, then throttle bodies, it would be spraying way up line before it makes a sharp turn into the head.

Why not just go with the MM prepped OE rockers as well?

                              BTW I hate you, I want to build a 3.1L M20.
