Yall are guna laugh... so I thought my girls bday was on Wed for some reason ha its on Thursday so hey I get an extra day.
So im running 195/65 R14 and im hoping you all can tell me what size I should put on there to give a better ride and fill in the huge fender gap! Any suggestion on tire size for the ole bottle caps...
Oh ya and im registering her today!Leave a comment:

Are you sure?? it seems weird that the light comes on when you start the car, to me it should only be on if there is a problem.
And my 91is doesn't have a check panel so I have no experience with one.
Oh ya and to change to mpg you have to push AVG MPG then the reset button.Leave a comment:

How long have you owned an E30? Every E30 with a check panel does this when you start it. Glad to hear you got the "breaks" finished.Okay I did the front breaks today!
And now its inspected!!! :D:p
Monday I will get it registered and the title transferred!
And Wed ill give her the car!!!
It is weird the break light check light is on when you start the car then once you press on the break it turns off, or if you push the check button,,, wonder why it is on when I start it?
Also I was driving back from inspection and my speedo all of a sudden cut out so I pulled the cluster and checked for a speed sensor signal which I was getting all the way to the speedo, so I first thought it was the speedo that was the problem but then I noticed if I wiggle the speedo it will work intermitently, which is when I found that the + prong that connects to the speedo it self had a cracked solder. So I gave it a fresh drop of solder and that fixed my speedo problem! I bet this is why my speedo in my 91is works intermitently and that is why when it isn't working and I hit the dash it starts to work. Ill take pics when I fix this on my 91is.
Now I need to read my owners manual to figure out how to turn km in to miles on the obc.Leave a comment:

Atomic did you just agree with me  thats a first and I think that was the first time you ever gave advice in one of my threads :pimp:
We also turn new rotors and give them all nondirectional finishes.Leave a comment:

Really, I always have even my brand new rotors turned as well. You would be amazed at how a new set is is not close to being true out of the box. And I am not talking cheap rotors either, I am using brembo evo e30 M3 rotors from Bimmerworld, and even they were out about 2mm. BMW actually recommends turning new rotors before installing.

All of the rotors are practical brand new as were the pads so no need to buy new.
Today I didn't do the front brakes too busy, so I installed the front window chrome and took it for another spin!Leave a comment:

If it were my gf, brakes would not be something I eff around with or try to cheap out on.
If it were my ex-gf, the car would have no brakes.
Just throw an extra ~$200 into some new front rotors.Leave a comment:

Meineke lol no, guess you missed that thread...
I work at a independent shop I have been the only mechanic for over a year now and we have all the tools and if we don't then we buy them.
So for me to cut a few mm off to make a rotor perfect again it just take a few noisy minutes.
The rotors only have 60k on them so there was only a 2mm lip, no need to replace and if so I have extras.
So today went well, I first pulled the driver rear caliper to free it up then I noticed how god awful the fluid was so I hooked up our pressurized break bleeder and ran new fluid through all the lines.
The rear passenger line not-coming off of the caliper, had a slight clog which had to be freed up with some mechanics wire!
As for the pads I normally use dust free pads but in this case the PO supplied napa pads which are great replacements.
I only had time to do the rear pads today ill have to do the front tomorrow.
After a test drive I'm ready to buy some new rubber, these pirelli from 92(have receipts) are pretty dry and ready to split after sitting for 10 years.
The ac gets so damn cold with a new expansion valve you almost have to turn the temp up.
I noticed I have an lsd!
I was able to bring the rear view mirrors back to life with some Armor all gel! (I still plan to paint match them when the time comes)
Cant wait till this weekend so I can clay bar this thing I'm sick of the white pale look it has lol.Leave a comment:
