    Alternator R&R - WTF?

    Who the hell designed this?

My alternator belt is a bit loose and I wanted to tighten it up.

The top adjuster is accessible, but the bottom bolt, forget it.

The Bentley isn't much help either.

Do I have to remove the PS pump from below to get to the bolt to loosen the alternator?

Also, what size is that bolt?

13mm wrench, sideways on the bolt. Make sure you have another 13mm on the ‘easy to get to’ side.

I can't even see the bottom bolt from the top or the bottom. The PS Pump is in the way from the bottom, and that is with the car jacked up.

And, which side is the "easy" side?

its pretty hard not to find... use your hand to feel where the bolt is, then put a wrench on it...
