    Hlep I need better cooling!

I want to know if there are any good larger radiators that fit well into an e30. i have a 1984 and it runs hot and I want a larger radiator. Please any info will help.

Note: I am not afraid to fabricate mounts.

You just need to get you cooling system up to par and it should keep you more than cool enough.

you shouldn't need a new radiator unless yours is leaking, theres tons of options, cooler aux fan switch and cooler thermostat are super easy to replace. also you can get a new waterpump, flush the old coolant out, bleed bleeed bleeeeed, and your car should run super cool.

You shouldn't need any aux fan modifications or cooler thermostats. Just make sure it is flushed, your water pump is good, the thermostat is good etc. Stock cooling system is just fine.

This is an endurance race car. "Lemons" car. I had overheating problems and I wish to change the radiator, but I understand the stock setup should work. I just want to find alternative methods, like a 3 core in stead of the stock 2 core. If that is even what it is.

they do have a tropical radiator I believe that is a stock item. Obviously running pure water is exellent option it really does lower temps a good 20F.
I happen to have a big all aluminum Zionville unit sitting around from my old turbo car. Now that sucker overcooled the car bigtime. No fan needed even if it sat and idled for an hour it could passively cool (210F or so, higher then I would let it get but safe). Freeway it would overcool below t-stat temp if it was below 75F outside. Integrated electric fan was only required on 90F+ days or when I was autocrossing. I am bringing it as a spare for my Lemons of Toledo car but after that it is for sale. I think there is at least one other company that sells a drop in all aluminum setup that is much cheaper starting around 300 bucks.

I ran a water, pre-mix..mix and the water evaporated pretty quickly.

If your air conditioning doesn't work, take that out, it blocks a good chunk of the rad's airflow.

Ah, sometimes we all forget to ask the simple questions: What is hot? 1/2 3/4 Full red? Do you have exact temps?

You should still not have trouble running your car at the track. The only downfall of our cooling system is the godforsaken plastic end tanks on the radiators.

After I went with an aluminum unit, my biggest mistake was picking a unit so thick that required the use of electric fans. Ever since I started having overheating issues after a lot of abuse.

Make sure your OEM system is in good working order. Fan clutch, water pump, and radiator. If anything, cut the hood to let some air vent out and make sure the fan shroud is doing it's job.

I was gonna say hood vents as well. I have a set in my garage that I want to put on mine.

Yeah, I dont have a Mechanical fan. It hit the shroud and broke so I removed it. wen hooked up the aux fan to a switch in the cab. I am running an aftermarket gauge. it works well. it was getting to about 300 when the overflow/reservoir tank started burping and steaming. I am sure if I replace the stock stuff with new parts it will be fine. I am just looking ahead incase it does not fix my problem.
                      thanks guys.

Sadly enough, you're probably right. :)

But I still didnt overheat driving sideways with the fan clutch ;)
