Does anyone know the answer to this...

I'm trying to fugure out the same. Will an eta flywheel work in a 325i G260?

    Yes it will...

However it's not the best way to go.

It will work I used a tranny out of an 86 and put it in my 90. But if your using the driveshaft you will need to replace the Center support bearing cause there are two.

Exactly, man I wish I had the money to buy a single when I swapped.

85 325e had single mass flywheel. At least my did.

Dual mass didn't start until half way into 86 model year.

it will work with matching clutch. Transmission output flange was different for 87 model year as well. So Guibo between models changed in 87 too, but tranny stayed the same, except for reference sensors (on I models).

You'd have to get a flange and replace it, or a driveshaft from an early model.

Dual Mass FTMFL... I should have converted to single mass in my eta when I did the clutch but.. I was poor at the time.

Dual mass is a good amount heavier, apparently the reason as something to do with the idle.

                  So would a 9/86 325e have a dual-mass or single-mass flywheels?
