Auto to 5speed swap

Anyone here done this before? I have an 88 325is AUTO but have been considering the 5speed swap since we may turn this car into an autox car before next year. Are there any online write ups? Or if you have done this can you enlighten me a bit?

Also, if anyone has the parts for sale to do this swap please let me know.

The current auto tranny was a brand new factory tranny and now has about 60k miles on it. What would this tranny be worth?
