I love that a "tune up" on an american car usually includes a trans replacement. :rofl

My brother bought one of these, very used, enjoyed it for a couple years, then went back to driving very used Subarus. Very nice car, but at 150K, you should just plan on driving it until it dies, and ignore the disintegration of all the non-essential systems (air conditioning, instrument panel, etc) while it does so. [edit - I realize now that the preceeding sentence sounds just like driving an E30.] There is (of course) a cult following for this vehicle - you should be able to find the forum with a Google search.

+1 quart every month... the Northstars have all burned oil as if it was fuel.

Yeah, I thought that was only late-model automatic BMWs that need that done. ;- )

If you want a big ass American car, I think the best deal out there is a retired Ford P71 (Cop car) Crown Vic... Just throwing that out there. Nothing really beats a free car, but if you were actually buying something... I'm gonna be rocking one of those after this winter is over and my Milano self destructs.

Northstars use more oil than gas. Every one I've ever seen leaks and burns oil, I think that's why it takes 7.5 quarts.

But it's a free car, so drive it till the wheels fall off.
