    Fuse 6 short help needed

    Hi,

I have a dead short that keeps blowing fuse #6 (brake lights, cruise, ABS, Active Check Control and interior lights). I disconnected the brake light switch and the fuse still blew. Any other ideas or advice on tracking this down? I can run a fused line to the brake switch so I can drive it, but I want to fix it correctly.

The car is an 89 325i that is just coming to life after a light rebuild. I removed the interior to weld in floor repairs, but did not touch anything on fuse #6.

    Thanks,

    Steve

Probably going to have to trace the line to see what shorted. I would guess some insulation heated up where you were welding.

Either that or bypass everything on that fuse to see which component is shorting it.

    Where in MN are you?
