Roads like this are exactly why later in life I want to be able to take a 3-4 month road trip across the country.

Be sure to go in the off season when you won't be dodging 40' RV's!!

Length limit is 21', so few coaches at all.

Speed limit is 40MPH on the lower half, 25MPH on the upper half and they mail the tickets to you...

i havent been on that particular road, but have driven from oklahoma to portland and back twice now, taking a new route each time. my trip going through much of montana was arguably my favorite portion of road i have been on, with the exception of highway 1 in california.

i vividly remember "beartooth highway", or highway 212. here is a google maps link to the road. its insane: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=e...,0.370789&z=11

edit: be sure to zoom into the extra squiggly parts to get some idea of the curves.

I've been on the Beartooth Highway and drove Highway 1 from SF to Yreka... LONG drive, but SO beautiful. I remember driving through all of the little towns and the signs would read: "Population 12, Elevation 7" haha.

I have been on part of it but I was in a mini-van lol, really is beautiful out there, Montana is probably my favorite state.
