    mtech 2 kit and obc

    Hi Guys,

I am about to get a second hand mtech2 kit and obc. Whoo Hoo!

Just wondering if anyone knows if the stock front indicator lenses will fit the mtech2 front bar?

Also does anyone know how to install the obc. As I understand it I can get most functions happening by just wiring it up to the cluster.

He lives in Australia where, if I’m not mistaken, the sport models (iS) came with an Mtec body kit from the factory. This makes them not quite as rare.
          Nice find either way!

You are quite correct. In Australia we had the 325i and the 325is

Basically the same car but the is had the kit and close ratio gearbox as standard, these wernt available as options on the 325i tho.

However they are still quite rare, I've been looking for one for about 2 years now and even now its in a completly different part of Australia and I'm either gonna have to drive over and pick it up (bout a 10 hour drive) or pay an arm, leg and maybe a testicle for frieght. Its also not in perfect condition and its gonna take awhile before i get it on the car while I get the $$$ together to repair and paint it.

If you want to look around Aus for parts I'd suggest joing one of our boards. I recommed www.gccv.net German Car Club of Victoria

                bimmerboy12,

You would be surprised you know that BMW fitted e30’s uniquely in certain geographic locations.
                For example:

-Italy received e30’s with an s14 engine for tax purposes
-UK and Aus iS cars were fitted with Mtec II kits
-Canadian iS cars came standard with Mtec II steering wheel and shift knob (airbag was always an option) and I think we might have gotten euro weaves (I see lots of cars with them but I’m not sure if they are standard). Also, our gauges are in metric with the fuel gauge in liters instead of E-1/2-F.
-I think South Africa got an e30 with a larger displacement 333?

                Kind of cool.

                -Spencer

                  Sounds aboyt right.

I've seen one of those SA 333i cars

Not that impressive IMO its just an old 7 series 3.3ltr motor jammed in there. Though it did come with Alpina wheels and a few other goodies
