    Trading my 325e for 318.

My buddy has a really clean alpine white 84 318i that's in great shape. Just by looking at the body you'd never tell it's an 84. It's a 5spd with 220k miles.

I have an 87 Eta that's in really beater condition but it's ok. No exhaust, sport seats, stripped interior.

He's already said he wants to trade, and now gas prices plus the really clean white paint have me second thinking trading him.. I'm thinking i should trade him.

Discuss. Pictures will be up tommorow.

my m10 is faster then my friends E...and my friend byron on here says he thinks they are about the same.... but driving the two, the E is nice because it has loads more torque, but the m10 is nice cuz of the higher redline....id say go for the cleaner body, if you are that worried do a motor swap..

BTW the only thing i have on my car is a 3:73LSD from a 325is ...and it made A LOT!!!!! of difference in acceleration ect... A LOT!!!!! and its a direct bolt on

early 318's had drum brakes also. and most of the suspension stuff is early model specific.

I'm just looking to drive this thing as a daily while i save money for a straight 325is or e36 328is for next summer.

I can't wait to get this thing to my house tommorow to take a real good look at it. The kicker is it comes with a thule roof rack. Pictures to come...

                    I'll let the pictures explain...

                    From this..

                    To this...

Here she is. Drove it home, it's got a really lumpy idle, and an issue where when you floor it it stumbles and slows down. Also, a loud buzzing sound coming from the fuelpump/fuel filter area. The buzzing is constant and loud.

Lets hear the criticism. Do or dont? Any input with the drivability problems? I'm bringing it into work tommorow so i can get it on a lift and take a real close look at everything before i make any final decisions. Thanks guys.

I'm thinking do as well.. Just want to take a closer look at things tommorow.

Would a shoddy o2 sensor cause a bumpy idle symptom? Sometimes it idles just fine, it's just a little high.. 1000 rpm iirc.

                          Sounds like my car.

I'd pass. I think your car has potential and I like projects.

Well, posterity, you will never know what it cost us to preserve your freedom. I only hope that you will make a good use of it. If you do not, I shall repent in heaven that I ever took half the pains to preserve it.

Not bad. I have zero experience with M10's, but from everything I hear they are a close second to a painful death. At least you have some torque with the eta. I say pass.

OK.. well if only i could find a cheap stock exhaust to bolt onto the E i could get it to pass emissions and i wouldn't even be looking for another daily driver...
