Has a nice article on an optioned-out M3 cabby. :nice:

That was a great issue actually. The Alpina E24 from Japan was badass.

I thought it was interesting that the verts weren't made as an M3 shell. They were a non-M3 shell with the M3 body parts added. Even the rear quarters were grafted on.

I didn't know about the leather interior bits like the center console and steering wheel. Quoted from the article "Who really needs a leather wrapped steering column?"

Saw that, haven't read that far though.

I thought it was interesting that the verts weren't made as an M3 shell. They were a non-M3 shell with the M3 body parts added. Even the rear quarters were grafted on.
Even used the standard E30 trunk lid.

That stuff was interesting, but apparently a lot of it was spec'ed by the original orderer (which may have been BMW itself). They said that the M3 Cabby production setup eventually morphed into BMW individual, and that most of the M3 Cabbys are set up very different from each other.

I didn't see anything about it in the article - I wonder if they used the Cabby springs in back or something else?

Performance BMW this month also has a SUPER long, detailed article on tuning for the E30 and the M20, tons of really good info, and TONS of E30s this month.

Barnes & Noble here stopped carrying Total BMW like a year ago, and I've been PISSED ever since. I've been relegated to snagging the occasional copy when I'm in Portland. Has anyone else picked up the new issue of Retro Cars? It's by the same publishers, and it's fucking AWESOME.

I'm not religiously stuck to one magazine...I just picked this one up because of the M3 Cabby article. Thought it might be of interest to the board since there is so little information on those rarities. First time I'd ever even seen a picture of one.

Total BMW is a stellar magazine, BMWCar seems to focus way too much on new stuff, whereas Total often features articles about E30's, E28's, E34's, etc.

Sadly, they're both like $11... for a magazine.

My thoughts exactly. Why I prefer Total. They really love the old school rare one-offs and shit. 333i's, JPS cars, etc.
