I cant figure out how to get these bushings into the CAs!!!! They just wont go in. The tapered end on the bushing into CA wont budge even while hammering at full force. Any tips? I lubricated it like crazy too.

I think you mean putting the bushings in the lollipops, and those you have to get pressed in. Take it to a shop and they should be able to do it for you.
This topic has bee covered before. I'll be polite unlike most of the members here would be so please search next time.If life passes you by... Downshift.

hey LAZR,
Thanks for the advice, but the thing is that I have done my share of research. What my problem actually is is putting the bushing (already attached to the lollipop) onto the CA. I have read everything necessary on bimmerforums and on these forums to gather info but I have not read anything about someone having as much difficulty as I have today. I have AKG 75D offset bushing and I cannot get them into the CAs. The non-tapered end of the bushing has no problem going in, but the tapered end does not go in no matter how much I hammer and lube. Any tips?

bro, what you need is some 3in1 oil, penetrating oil, 50/50palmolive and water or some sort of good lubrican..yeah thatone probably works too. be generous, let the shit drip all over you, the floor, the CA and CAB.
Hopefully you are man enough to lay on the floor and twist the CAB/lollipop onto the CA, twist back and forth as you press in, will take a good 5-10min of all your strength per side...otherwise, take the CA off, and place on end on the floor as you force the CAB on the top.
BFHs did not work for me. i've had a bunch of e30s and this is one of the most despicable tasks for these cars.No more e30s for me.

I got some on an E36 M3 while everything was in the car with a NAPA product called "Syl Glide". I wrestled with them for 20 minutes before I thought to use it... A little smear and they pop right on. As for concerns of the bushings not holding on to the CAs, it doesn't seem to be an issue almost 8,000 miles later.'88 528e /// '88 M5 /// '89 951 /// '98 E430 /// '02 M5

So do you guys think I basically need a better lubricant? As far as the 3 in 1 lubricant you were talking about Luis... Did you make it yourself? I got some grease that I got from the store, and I have water of course, but what do you use as penetrating oil? I just mix these all up and drip it all over the place basically right? Thanks.
And Euroshark, I will check on that grease called Syl Glide. But Im kinda worried about the CAs not being "stuck" to the bushings after a few thousand miles.

pbblaster, 3in1, wd-40. any *single* one of these will work. i've had good experience w/ water and palmolive
palmolive/water is the best option becuase it will dry out giving you that "stuck"... but in any event, the CA will not slip out of the CAB. my last e30 sat on empty lollipops and there's no way it'll come out...its impossible to drive like this though, don't ever try it, im just making a point if you're worried on the slyglide. pz.No more e30s for me.

Alright finally. My car is off the stands and all the parts are replaced. Thanks for all the help! But I do have one more problem....
I also replaced my steering rack to an e36 M3 rack, and since the e30 hoses are so long, and the M3 rack has the receiving holes in a different location, I cannot seem to get the hoses tightened on the the appropriate places. I hand tightened the bolts as much as possible, but the space is so tight in there that I cannot get a socket, or even a wrench in there to make it fully tight. Any help here?

If you can get a end wrench on them ( or shorty wrench ) you can use a pry bar to move the wrench if you hand will no longer fit. How about a crows foot.
You just going to have to suck it up and get it done, I'd love to reach throught the screen and tighten them up for ya but it aint going to happen.
