    The Mini-NE F1 Boston Meet

Pete (OreoGaborio), Greg (M-Technik-3), Brew (Brew), Dan (E30Modified) and Will (Ydubbs4) met up at F1 Boston for a little rubbin and racin in some fast go-carts. Despite the shit talking, Pete took top honors in both races, with Greg in hot pursuit in both, and myself and Greg hot on his tail in the 2nd. Brew had a strong first showing, finishing 8th, and Dan decided he would rather run the course backward (spun 3 times). We are hoping to get together for another run in a couple of weeks, if anyone else is up for it. The pictures came out terrible, as it was too dark in the building, but I managed to get a solid one of Pete and Greg.

Edit: And yes Dan, I did go the wrong way home....damn confusing down there with 128 and 93.

and also despite the fact that my cart had a bad idle setting... stalled out twice before the first race, once before the second, and ONCE DURING THE RACE... man... it was too funny coasting to a stop on the 6th lap, having to stomp on the gas, pull start the thing MYSELF from inside the cart, watch 4 or 5 people pass me and still manage 1st

ok ok, i'll stop talkin shit now ;)

we really gotta do another one of these GTG's... there was some talk of renting the track for 1/2 an hour or so, so we can have it all to ourselves... that would be pretty badass... Greg, ya gotta look more into that & find out how many people would be best for price, but i have a feeling that 10-12 people is actually a good number, since that's what we had in both our races

we should do one around x-mas vacation, that way a good number of other guys can come allong like WilberM3 (my buddy Dave), fandmb (kevin), UNHCLL( chris langsten) etc etc.. i'm sure there's more that would hop in

      Hey Will,
Did the pic of all our cars come out, or was it too dark to save?

I had a blast guys. Next time, your all going down. :x Probably not, though.

Talk smack all you want Pete your days are numbered. I'll just spend some more time down at my local track in Ct. It's 20 minutes for the Western Mass guys. Yea we'll do it soon ok. I will find out what we need for a mini enduro run and see how flexible they are.

Or we could do a mini event at www.karttrak.com thats the one in Ct. Maybe they could do a 20/20 style on Sundays too. But my suggest that we do it earlier.

Well I would have never thought that there were this many people in boston!
I would love to meet up with you guys for a race or two. then I can show you how my turbo project is oming along, and maybe you know somewhere that I could rent a Paint booth in our area?
parking in south boston is killing my body, went from fantastic, to beat to hell...
at least I am fairly confident that my car is the fastest on the road..
it feels so right when an evo M3 pull sup behind you and goes to pass, and you show him that its doesn't take a lot of money t move fast...
it feels even better to aboslutly roast a riced out civic..
                Keep me posted on karting!
                -pete

P.S. My neighbor was the one of the Founders of F1 boston.. so why won't he let me dirve for free? Because he thinks I run the risk of running over his kids when come home. If a car is loud, it doesn't mean that it is traveling fast..

Nope, I'm glad you added me to the list.
I'm jealous that I didn't get to go to the first F1 meeting. Me and Brew went over the summer and I sucked at it :x I've been anxious to give it another try.

heh, well the FIRST F1 meet was what... about a year ago now?

it was myself, Keven (supereta), chris duerden (sp? beirbrennerE30) , his buddy chris (autobahnSHO from e3s), and a couple of my buddies... was that it or am i missin someone? nothin big, but we had a fuckin blast

i think the trick to F1 boston is just gunning it as much as possible... more than you think... and also luck of the draw since all carts are NOT created equal ;) .... but apparently the biggest advantage you can have by far is to own an ETA, since I LAYED THE WASTE TO EVERYONE

oops... my bad. I meant that last/most recent F1 meet.
Well I guess I'll be at a disadvantage to you, seeing as how I have an 'i', so I'm not used to driving below 40mph ;)

yeah yeah yeah, i've heard it all buddy... come next summer i'll hopfully have a nice little 2.7i so don't you worry 8)

btw... being an ETA driver does actually give me an advantage, since i' ve learned how to drive w/ the suspension of a yacht & don't have the instant "go" of an 'i'... i just carry my speed through those twisties at F1 8)

I'll be there. CT might be a bit far but I'll try. Depends on time of day. F1 is close enough to go whenever. Awesome night. Pete, how are your tires?
Driving is the only way to go faster....

Pete's tires are holding up just fine (you missed his on-ramp shenanigans). My question to you is...how close did you come to loosing it and going all the way around coming out of the parking lot? I tried to give the fist in the air in congratulations, but dont know if you caught it or not.
