    I guess I remembered incorrectly.:)

Car looks clean btw. What does the parts recipient look like? Maybe just yoink the engine out of the other car and put it in this one.

I have a 325i that needed top/interior/fender/plastic bumper conversion. This one had a blown engine and was relatively cheap for the things I needed. I need an autotragic due to the wife not being able to operate more than two pedals :(. Thus I went with the 6cy as the 4cyl auto just didn't do it for me. It is a shame considering it was owned by one family and all history was available. I really don't want to send it to the crusher so hopefully someone will want the leftover shell.

What is wrong with it? Blown headgasket?
4 inch hole in the side of the motor.

I'd have to convert it to automatic. I'm not that skilled so an engine/transmission swap would never happen on my budget. http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=118395

Is this the same dif as my 325i auto?

              Thanks!

                no... your '87 auto should have a 3.73 med-case (88-91 autos have 4.10 med-cases btw). The 318i has a 4.10 small-case (weaker). No swappage there.

Please don't crush it. Except for the trunk that car is CLEAN! If I didn't live 900 miles away I would buy the shell.

How do I get the steering wheel off and the heater box without dumping antifreeze on the carpet?

heater box : use compressed air to blow the water out of the core
