They just use a solid bracket, front and rear.

No shocks. Very un-safe design. Look on RealOEM for pictures & part numbers.

Yeah, there are no shocks. The brackets mount to the same holes as the regular bumper shocks.

Yes, buy them from the dealer. It will come out to something like ~$20 and maybe $30 with new hardware. Front and rear, by the way.

Yeah, it's pretty cheap. BMW's prices arent bad. Only broke kids that are used to low-balling people on the forums complain about their prices.

I bought all new hardware and brackets for my bumpers and it only cost ~$45 iirc. The total was ~$68, but I picked up a set of pimpy mudflaps and a specialty hose for my 6er too.

^so before i go to the dealership, do i need to find all the parts numbers on realoem.com?

And what other hardware do you need? I need a few trim parts to...

it will make it easier to order. sometimes the dealer's parts department has trouble looking up non us spec parts in their computer. if you present them with the part #'s and print them the page to show them you are correct, they will be WAY more friendly to you. it just shows you did your homework and they wont get stuck with obsolete parts.
