    non- M3 owners enter....

SO...in conversation with an aquaintance today, I find out that he owns an e30 M3 that he's looking to sell...he's the original owner of the car. So the question is....would you sell your current non-M3 e30 for an unmolested M3 which will be a good price (under $8K-for me)

I'm super torn...been working on my vert for almost a year...but who knows...

Screw whatever I'm driving now. Get the M3, and save up some extra dough to buy a legit DD.

Well I am an E30 M3 owner (this is my second) and also have owned some regular E30's (have a '87 325is also). If it is truly a one owner, unmolested car that has had the proper maintenance over all these years, then I would have to say YES.

Simple as this-E30 M3 values haven't been depreciating for years now, and in fact due to the recent magazine articles featuring them prices are steadily increasing. It's almost gotten to the point that just a 'roller' without an engine can fetch up to $6k, so to get a one owner car for under $8k at this point and time is a steal-if in fact the car is what he says it is. You could sell it later on and easily make money off of it.

Now I personally don't suggest you buy the car as your only source of transportation-E30 M3's are very tiring at daily driver duties. If you are able, after purchasing the M3 I would look for another car for a daily driver, such as the vert you mentioned. You can daily drive the M3 for a while, but I think you will find out you will be happier with something else for daily use.

Regardless, it sounds like a definite buy to me.

Dude, sub 8k, you better pick it up. Otherwise the r3v community will collectively beat your ass.

If a second car is your problem, man up and get a bike.

Do not pass up on this offer.

Even if I couldn't keep the car I would get it for the investment and make a few bucks on it.

wishing it was that easy...no worries...I know the owner fairly well and I'm sure we'll work something out...but my wife would have a cow or a calf rather if I come home with another bmw when I just got the vert semi-done.
