    Cost of an S38B36

    Does anyone know how much a complete S38B36 engine is worth.. I have one and might trade to a euro S503.2L..

    is it complete? good compression? how many miles? does it come with the plenum and header?

      Mileage, any leaks, any records?

      Complete B36 would fetch around 5-6000 USD, under 100k miles would get 7000+ USD.

        The engine is complete, with wiring harness, ecu, headers etc.. its has 90k miles on the clock and compression and leak down tests have all been done.

          You could ask up to 8000 USD (or ~5500 € in your case.)

              Short term, probably about $6000-8000. Long term... priceless :p

                in this market, you would have a hard time getting 6-8k. those 3 s38s on ebay sold for 6k, and they were complete and came with 2 getrag 280s. their condition was unknown, but you will have to look long and hard for a buyer willing to pay that much for a 90k s38. the s38 in my 88 M5 had to be rebuilt at 110k, so low miles doesn't guarantee anything.

                    I have s38 complete with everything under 60k miles, comes with 5 speed and all accessories, ECUs etc... it's mint !!!
