    swapping out convertible trunk lids

Are the cabby trunk lids interchangeable with a coupe/sedan? I am thinking about getting rid of my trunk mounted light so either swap or weld the holes.

You'd have to move the strut brackets from the cabby lid to the hardtop lid, or find a set from a junkyard cabby. Otherwise, I think they'll fit. I'm planning on doing this, using a rear wing with an integrated light to get rid of the leaky lump. Until then, I have a new housing to fix the leaky lump.

No kidding on the leaks. It started leaking over the past couple months and since I have been working on front I did not pay attention and open the trunk until recently and noticed the moisture. Rusted my perfect tool kit and of course everything else is wet.

AFAIK They are the exact same other than the strut mounting and 3rd brake light.

So what is different again? I just walked out front and measured them and they are the exact same size. 1 foot 9 inches long and 4 feet 4 inches across about.

              Measured off a 91' vert and a 87' IS.

Looks good like that, All naked like.

And I rest my case about them being pretty much the exact same.

It is really quite easy - buy a matching color coupe/4 door trunk lid, 4 bolts for off/on adjust & your done. Probably get the part for under $100 & install is @ 35 min.

Please note, this is illegal in some states because your removing the 3rd brake light. If you get tickets & attract cops like a magnet - or play "dare you" with the local police, they WILL find a way to write you up for this - so don't do it!!

Cactusjacks, thanks for the pics and answering my question.

In a perfect world I would buy the italian only spoiler with the integrated brake light. I know a couple of aftermarkets have them but I have not personally seen anything that does not look ricey
