Thought I'd say HI (Pete's life/bike update thread)

hehehehe... what's up guys? well, lets cut to the chase... here's why i haven't been posting here lately 8)

got serious into it.... spent a big chunk of change on leathers, gloves, tires etc. & brought my bike up to New Hampshire International Speedway in Loudon NH. it was just a track day, no racing or timing, but from what i heard when i was talkin to people, i did a DAMN good job for only 5000 miles of (mostly highway) experience

my favorites are the last three

and the course (w/ the rules i was abiding by) -

Nice, my father just got a Yamaha FZ1 and that thing is really getting me into bikes. I'm thinking about getting a Ninja 250R or the 500....

            Great pics Pete!

this is my first bike & is the largest i'd go with.... w/ that said, get the 500... it's a great starter bike & awesome track rat, too  although it's great in the twisties, you'll get bored w/ the 250 on the street

                great news man, great news

I was hoping to have a set of leathers by now. im still working on it though. i got a hole in my rear tire right before Mid Ohio this year, so I had to ditch my supercorsas w/1500 miles on them and spend money on new pilot sports (which are a great tire by the way, more sticky than my DOT compound supercorsas).

a buddy of mine is on the yamaha factory team, he's been saying he might be able to get me a deal on an alpinestars suit but it's not looking likely. He did hook me up with some dainese gloves though.

when were you at louden? did you see Donkey Punch Racing? it's a couple of guys from buffalo who do club racing, they went down there last weekend.

im surprised they let you take your bike out there in full street trim though. well, i guess if everything was taped up. did you have to safety wire everything?

                well, good luck, stay safe.

it was a ]Tony's Track Day... no competition or timing, so you just needed to tape up the glass & make sure no brake lights are visable whatsoever (pull the fuses or the bulbs) that's all... no safety wire, no need to flush the radiator & fill it w/ water.

it was this past Weds. & i have a fucking BLAST... only 175 bucks. I'm goin again either on Oct 14th for another Tony's day for $150 or maybe the Penguin school (not as likely) for 2 hundred-somethin

if you're a member of www.onedownfiveup.com i'd suggest sending an email to the guy named Cal-Sportbike... he's the owner of www.calsportbike.com and totally hooked me up on my A*s GPU 2-piece & A*s GP Plus gloves... i only paid $707 shipped, but i was an exception... he really cut me an awesome deal

w00t! Those shots make me want to get a bike but I have 3 events sceduled for my car once its finished so I doubt I will have the money.

We all need to win the lotto so all we can do is buy cars and bikes to race all year long.
                    Im now E30less.

                      That'd be too awesome.

Nice bike, and I'm really interested to know how these compare to Beemers. ;)

We drove the Beemers and they were a letdown. Even 10 years ago they were like the Bimmers now. Lots of bells and whistles but they weight too much and are soft bikes. Beemers are cruisers. That is why he moved to Ducs and then the MV.

except for the bling 748's and 999's and the like

but ive got some vids of r1s whomping on 999's.
