    buying frm ebay.de shipping question

I'm interested in buying a large item on ebay Germany. How do I figure the cost of shipping and if there are extra taxes once it arrives in the US?

There will be duties / customs charges for bringing in the item, especially if it is brand new.

Either way, expect to pay the equivalent of sales tax on the item..

Shipping is another story all together - depends on what you are shipping, but it can get pretty expensive.

If you plan on doing this, you should find a seller with solid feedback, who could communicate with you in english... that seller, if he is down with shipping to North America, should be able to quote you on the shipping costs.

    Good luck!

        $1-10000

Impossible to answer that question, there are wayyyyy too many variables, and it doesn't really matter what someone guesses it's gonna cost, you'll get charged whatever Customs decides to charge you and that's that. If they give you a really high bill, you can try to argue with them but good luck.

            haha seriously.

            to give you an idea,

I bought NEW wheels from Germany, on the invoice, it stated something like $1200, as the cost.... I paid an extra $160 in duties..

If you have a friend stationed somewhere in Europe, ask them to receive the item and then ship it to you via APO.

I got my front bumper-shaped-and-sized package via APO and it ended up being about $30 bucks shipping, I think.
