    pocket bike mania, advice.

im thinking of getting a pocket bike. has anyone ridden one? Was it blindingly fast? Was it too small where it was unbearable to ride? Im 5'8" so use that as reference. I hear they have enough power to do a wheelie, but im scared at the same time. Any advice just add it here.

You looking at a gas or electric?

They've opened up a pocketbike store out at the mall in Easton, go down there and try one out, best way to see if you'll fit.

These pocket bikes are pretty fun, they are only good for a ride once in a while tho. Although they are small, i'm sure you will fit, i'm 5'6" so yeah. I guess if you get a gas one with a strong motor they are fast, the ones i've ridden on aren't that fast at pick up, but they do pickup speeds up to 25mph. They are fun, but you will get bored of them fast. Their kinda of like RC cars, you play with them once in a while.

They can be modified to maybe 40-45 mph if you really wanna go fast :)

I'm glad I got over it before I bought one. For like 2 days I swore that they are so fun and I would ride it all the time. Then I wised up and decided that I'll end up like everyone else and using it once in a while, an $600 is too much for a toy that doesn't get used :P

I rode around on a buddy of mine's for a few hours one day, the next day, my legs and back were so sore I could hardly move.

There are 2 different classes of them out there. The original racing ones that are crazy fast and cost around $2500 and the new breed of chinese ones that are being sold on every corner.

The cheap ones are fun but tend to break something everytime you get on it. They are suprising comfortable for me though and I'm 6' - 195lbs. If you get one of the cheap ones just be prepared to work on it a lot and you will probably ride it like crazy the first week or 2 then it will collect dust in your garage or closet

They are everywhere and VERY cheap here in Houston because they are selling them right off the boats

Now in california you have to have a class B motorcycle licence to ride one on the street...
I would buy a Go-Ped (I have one) and use that. Its easy transportation and is much safer as people can see you better on that while you are standing upright, not just 3' off the ground...
My go-ped is very fast, probably too much power, but its a blast and gets over 100mpg, can't beat that for quick trips to the market or to work to avoid parking a car...

Charlie, I saw the store at Easton, they have some pretty sweet ones. Internet competition for sales has driven the price WAYYY down, and you can one shipped free to your door for like $250. Im going for this one http://www.quickscooters.com/product...roducts_id=189

i just dont know what color to get!!!!
