Oh man, I thought the US was all about the maryjane.. Now I see it's exactly like Sweden, the land of the midnight sun and Absolut Vodka.
I personally only drink Lapin Kulta (Lappland Gold) and a single malt on occasion.
Actaully I WOULD be but the costs are a little high. I gave it up for waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles and partly because a friend got busted with a large amount and got real time.
but on a serious note, i think that after this weekend, we are going to have to slow down. need to study and make grades, to keep my scholarship.
IIRC, you're an engineering major?
First semester, especially in engineering, is a tough semester. Its a culture shock compared to high school, and there's a lot of things to distract you at college.
Try to keep an open mind, prioritize your time, and develop NEW study skills. No matter how good of a student you were in high school, college is a whole different game, and requires a different approach. Study hard, and when you get done, get out and party/relax/whatever.
My GPA my first semester at school was horrible (let's just say, <3.0). I realized that I spent too much time worrying about class/homework/studying, and when I could've just bit the bullet and studied. Very easy to confuse worrying/loathing studying with studying. Midway thru sophomore year things just "clicked" and I've been holding a pretty solid (mid 3.0) GPA.
Engineering doesn't necessarily get easier as you go along... you just get used to it :). Frankly it isn't that bad.

I had a bad experiance recently at a Dave Matthews concert. I hadn't done it in 2 years, tried it again, won't pick it up again.

yeah, i remember the talk we had earlier, your point of view was helpful, and enjoy the words of advice
but it is a plus both my roommates are engineering, as well as many of my friends.
(btw, i have bonged 15 shots of jack daniels before)
All at once? Damn.
A guy on my rugby team did 9 shots of whiskey at once before... I thought that was a lot.
yes, and o god it burned. and amazingly i kept it all down (till the next morning)
Jesus man!
While you were at it you should have nutted up and taken 4 more and finished the fifth! lol
On a serious note, be careful with slamming that much hard liqour. A friend of mine at Gonzaga (a girl) drank about 3/4 of a half-gallon and ended up in the hospital with a BAL of 0.36 - yes, she was passed out.
