What is this?

Hey, What is this peice it looks like it might have something to do with the battery kinda like a kill switch.

I found this in my parts car and now i am wondering what in the heck it really is.

If it is a battery kill switch how do you install it?

Yes, it is a kill switch for a race car. It is used if you get into a accident/fire to shut the car off from outside the car. There is usually a yellow arrow pointing to it as it protrudes threw the hood or some place like that.

Install it and put a huge arrow on your car. Im thinking right on the passenger door or something.

Well its a freebie so why the heck not just install it i dont want it visible though. heh

So how do i install this peice properly and were is a good place to put it someplace that is not out in the wide open but yet easy to get ahold of (accidents do happen ).

Most guys mount them in the rear of the car as that is usually where the fire and safety crews arrive at first! In most of our cases it is also where the battery is located and it is the easiest.
