been there, done that.. always came back to the E30....

    had 3 E36 M3s, and an E46 M3 as well..

E30 with DOHC wins every time.

If you loved your E30 that much, you wouldn't be looking, would you?

Seeing your situation is what it is, check and see which one could possibly come home with you, then when you get back home, SWAP DAT BISH!

is it a straight-up trade? If it was gonna cost you more, I'd keep the e30. But if it was a straight swap, I'd consider it.

There are two kinds of e30 owners. The ones that bought the nicest BMW they could afford, and those who can afford to buy any BMW they want (lets say up to 50k+) and chose to buy an e30.

    Pssh, E30's and "character." lol

Count me in as one that would probably turn down my M20-powered E30 for a euro S50-powered E36. I love E30's, but they aren't the "end all, be all."

Sorry I didn't ID that earlier in the thread. They are both US Specs M3's. One is completely done up from head to toe ready to hit the track and the other is more for light track duty and more original. But based on all the responses I have seen so far, I think my E30 is staying home with me for a foreseeable future. Thanks for the comments guys.

Only euro e36 M3 EVOs got the 321 hp motor. All the others got 286 hp or something like that. Still ITBs, though.

I wouldn't trade my E30 for an e36, euro or not. LTW, probably. You've got a pretty nice e30, there, too, by the looks of it.

An E30 done right can hang with an E36 M3 no problem (as far as handling is concerned), it has more to do with individual preference. Some people are more comfortable at the limit in E36s, some in E30s.

^ Yeah, I thought about that. 321 hp and ITBs would be pretty sick. But still, keep the E30. I mean, you're kind of asking the wrong people since at least half of the members on here have enough money in their E30s to have E36 M3s.
